Looks like even with FORD declining they are still outselling those new GM/DODGE/TOY/NISSAN models. Way to go FORD.

Overall, Ford is ahead, but those May sales figures don't look promising. Sales of new vehicles always escalate after winter and tax time passes. Chevrolet and GMC just added a $1500.00 incentive for the first time on their two new models.

Dude, what part of "+" in the GMC/Chevy numbers and what part of "-" in the Ford numbers do you not understand???

If I was Ford, I would be shaking in my boots right now.

You're kidding; right???

Let's forget for a moment that GM is out selling Ford by a wide margin....(or that Chevy by themselves outsold Ford last month)

Let's say you made $100,000 a year for the last few years. You have based your whole lifestyle on this number. The next year you make $13,000 LESS. (or $87,000)
All of a sudden, you're more than $1,000 a month short of what you're used to making.

Now take your friend/relative/neighbor ,what ever, and they have a lifestyle based on $70,000 a year. This year they make 7% more....or aprox $75,000.

Who is in a better position???? Who has to make cuts??

One more:

Your favorite baseball team has the best record, but is in the midst of a 10 game losing streak.....the 2nd place team is only a few games behind but is enjoying a 10 game winning streak with over half the season to go (and their best pitcher is coming off the disabled list [representing incentives that GM is now offering]).....which position would you rather be in?

Surely you can grasp this.

On a side note, expect some HUGE incentives by Ford to try to hang on with a 4 year old truck.

Why isn't the Dakota on the list? The Ranger outsold all the other small trucks except the Tacoma is awesome IMO.

Well explained. Even 93 ranger could understand. We have to admited ford is declining. Now ford should target to high gas millage vehicles. Gas prices will finally kill ford. Also ford has to work on better fuel efficient on the trucks. This may help to gain market.

I think V10 was saying for the F150 being a much older model, and all the competition having newer trucks Ford is still doing well. No need to try and belittle him.

yep, it is impressive that Ford can at least keep up with sales with a soon-to-be-replaced older generation truck vs 2 brand new models. That is why if they do lose their sales lead, it will be short-lived. IMO

Hope you're right.............but the thing that bothers me about Ford is with a six speed, (already in the parts bin) maybe a few more horses, they wouldn't be 60,000 units behind GM at less than 1/2 the year.

Incremental improvements is all I ask...........not basically the same truck for 4 straight model years. (5 model years if the '08's are unchanged)

How's that? Look up recalls on either a sierra or a sliverdo, and if they're the same than they'd have the same recalls - right!?!

Take for instance the year 05, the sliverdo has 11 recalls and the sierra has 10 and many involve different parts.
