92 F150 w/ I6 -- E85 Use/Conversion
OK, I have a 92 F150 with a I6. I've seen some suggestions that I can just use E85. The news guys were on the other night and said don't do it. Some threads suggested swapping the injectors to a slightly larger set. This seems to correspond with a E85 computer control/wire set that keeps the EFI open a little longer.
I could fool around with all this. But, the big question on my mind is:
Will I have to replace all the rubber/plastic in the fuel system?
- Fuel pump
- Fuel tank gasket (rubber)
- Fuel lines (dual tank and the octopus is hard to find)
- Injectors?? (I'm getting vague in my knowledge here)
Will I have increased water corrosion? I saw some mention of that. There there a way to counter act the tendency of alchohol to attrach water?
I saw mention of someone running a mix like E50. At what point does the mix start causing some of the problems listed above?
Did I miss anything?
BTW, I have a 93 Mustange with a 5.0. Will the 5.0 behave the same as the 4.9?
Thanks
Kevin
