anyone know of any redbone breeders??

Hey im looking for a redbone coonhound breeder around here. I'm not looking to get one right away, but i want one someday. I dont really want him for coon hunting, just as a biscuit eater. I've always wanted one since i was a kid and saw "where the red fern grows", I just have to find a breeder. And does anyone know about how much these pups run??

I just bought a blood hound pup that was 10 weeks old. I had to go to Georgia to find what I wanted. if the price is even close for a redbone save your $$$ I paid close to $800.00 for "Savanna"

When I was a kid I had a Blue-Tick Coonhound. Best dog I ever had. I'd love another but I live in the city and we all know how bad hounds howl. Ours never stopped - its in their genes or something.

The only thing the AKC has that is close is the B&T Coonhound. They are very cool but a little big for me.

http://www.akc.org/breeds/black_tan_coonhound/index.cfm

Whole list:

However, AKC recognition doesn't mean crap. A lot of very cool dogs are not AKC recognized. The breeder is more important than some silly papers.

I don't know anything about Redbone Coonhounds. What are they like?

Edit:

Aha! Neato: http://mail.ukcdogs.com/ukcweb.nsf/8...D?OpenDocument

And my Blue Tick!

I have had more problems with full blood dogs than I ever had with a mixed dog. Has to do with imbreeding. If you can find a breeder that has taken time to find 2 diff lines of blood then they turn out pretty good.

Also I was told that sometime in the near future some states are limiting the breeders in that state. I think they should there are to many half *** breeders out there just trying to make a buck off of a dog that aint worth crap unless your dog fighting or its just an extension of there little dicks. Sorry just alittle sore when it comes to that kind of breeders. To many dogs out there that needs a good home. AND FOR GOD SAKE, SAVE A TREE AND KILL A BEAVER!!!
