towing on hills ?

Hi I am new here and planning on getting an Expedition . I will be towing around 5000 lbs has anyone had problems towing up long hills with your expy?
my 1996 f150 4x4 with the 5.0 can`t handle it .
was just wondering if I should get an super duty V10 or stick with the expy
thanks

An 07 shouldn't have any problems with a 5K trailer and going up hills. You won't win any races. My 04 pulled my loaded horse trailer adequately. However, I still moved back up to an Excursion for the added "margin".

We pull an 8000+ lb. boat trailer and I can always maintain 50 mph on even the steepest grades. THe 6 speed tranny does well, too, and doesn't have to rev out to mantain speed.

Does it depend on the rear axle?

3.73 Optional or the STANDARD 3.31 rear axle
