460 and 351m bolt to same tranny?

I have a 1989 ford f250 with a 460 engine and a bad zf 5 speed tranny. I found a 5 speed zf tranny out of a 1990 f250 that had a 351m in it. Will this tranny bolt to the 460?
Thanks RT

And to answer your question, yes... The main difference is that the M tranny isn't as deep as the 460, but they will bolt and work.

I don't think the 351m was still used in 1990. That is probably a 351 windsor and that would have the 302/351 bell housing. That is smaller than the 351m/400/460. If you were using an auto tranny, the 351w tranny wouldn't work. Since you are looking at the ZF 5 speed the question is if it will bolt to the bell housing of a 460. You might ask the question in the tranny forum.

I may have typed this wrong the engine was a 5.8L out of a 1990 ford truck. I think it was a 351w.

I'm so used to people swapping engines around, didn't think to be sure that the 90 was actually the M or the W, Windsor. If it's injected, it would be a W, and no, the 460 will not work with it at all.
