Here's a video from Denver's CBS 4 about a "car pill" called PBI (BioPerformance Improver)
Yahoo!

This video will probably be active for no more than 2 weeks, so in case you miss it:
mpg without the pill: 17.67
mpg with the car pill: 17.65
Tests were performad at Colorado State University. BPI claimed an over 20% improvement in mpg.

it's probably similar to mothballs, which actually temporarily increase your engine's performance and may even increase your mpg, but in the long they cause damage

Six to 12 months too late.

Gas is down to $1.75 per gallon. Why bother chasing theses scams at the current price?

While gas won't hold these low prices for long, the scams will still be around.

It is actually partly mothball as per video, but I don't know what else is there.
Note well, if it contains solids insoluble in gasoline, that could could cause problems down the road, no matter how finely they are grounded.

Whether mothball can increase performance or mpg -- I don't know it for sure, for but it can't possible increase mpg enough to make an $25 per bottle of 'pills' worthwhile.

The yahoo link is dead, but the video is still on CBS4's website:

Are the pills for the car or the driver?

I agree with you. I mean, it has been around way back before then it disappeared and now it's back again. Who would trust it by the way?

Only way to save gas is to lose weight on the car or drive slower. Combined you would make off better.

Perhaps inserting a few cow magnets into the fuel tank would align the fuel molecules with the ratio of the tidal ebb, thus using gravitational effects of the lunar planet to enhance the combustible product.
... got that?
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't.
