Honda Ridgeline is a "truck"?
You got to laugh when you read this from the official Honda web site:
"The Truck
By now, you've seen the Honda Ridgeline, the half-ton truck that loves rough roads and offers plenty of versatile cargo room. But maybe it's time for a closer look. Because whether you're hauling big payloads or tackling the rugged terrain, the 2007 Ridgeline is ready to impress.
A 5,000-lb. towing capacity and 1,550-lb. total payload capacity will never leave you wanting more. The Ridgeline boasts this exceptional strength from an integrated closed-box frame with unit-body construction and powerful, 247-hp, V-6 engine with 4-wheel independent suspension. Plus, this one-of-a-kind truck comes fully equipped with a five-passenger crew cab, lockable In-Bed Trunk™ and a dual-action tailgate. After all, it's a Honda."
Someone needs to explain to Honda what the definition of a truck is. The Ridgeline is more like a Ford Explorer Sport Trac; a crossover (small suv/compact pickup) rather than a half-ton truck. Even the 2007 Ford Ranger has a 6,000 lb towing & 1,620 lb payload capacity. I would like to see the Ridgeline added to www.thetruthabouttrucks.com

What I want to know is, what makes it a truck and not just a car with a trailer hitch. It's got uni-body construction like a car. It has independent suspension like a car. It comes with 4 ply tires like a car. It has crisp nimble handling and a soft ride like a car. Girls think it cute....like a car. No self respecting tradesman would bring one on a jobsite. It's a car made to look like a truck. Sorry Honda, not foolin real truck drivers.

I looked at a Ridgeline when they first came out. No frame seating sucks, hard and uncomfortable. They put the engine in sideways. Not something I'm going to run out and buy. It was made for the true Honda fans, so they could buy a Honda "want-a-be-truck"

If Honda can get by with calling the Ridgeline a "truck", then they can get by with calling a Honda Metropolitan (scooter) a "motorcycle".
