07 Expedition Vrs 07 F-150 Crew cab

Hello everyone. I have been thinking of buying a new 07 F-150 crew cab and took my Mustang down to the local Ford dealer to have some repairs done and while I was waiting for a ride I checked out a new Expedition. I have yet to take one for a test drive but from what I could see checking it out, I thought that was one very nice vehicle. My question for those of you who have both an Expedition and F-150 or if you have owned both which one do you like better? I have been with out a pickup for over year and this summer I had planed on getting a new one but after looking at an Expedition my mind is leaning more towards that instead. Any feedback would be great. Thanks, Jeff

I owned both. An 03 Expy and an 04 F-150 SC. Two different vehicles. Both have thier place but one cannot replace the other.

How many kids you got?

Hard to beat a pickup for its versatility.

Right now I don’t have any kids but I just got married three weeks and she says what ever I get this time I need to keep for a while. That’s why I was leaning towards and SC pickup or Expedition. Right now I have a 65 Ford pickup that I feel safe running around town in but would not take it to much farther than that and sometime later this year my employer is replacing our Escapes with F-150's. They will be SC with the 5.5 foot box and no trailer package due to insurance purposes. The amount of money they charge us for personal use will be close to what a payment would be to buy a brand new one and then I get to pick everything on it and tow with it. I know the F-150's are nice since my dad is on his second super crew, I am just seeing how people like their new Expeditions. Thanks, Jeff

get the pickup, has room for five or six matter which version, and you said you have no kids, so you don't really need 7 or 8 seats, my family has had 2 expiditions, great for what they were built for, they did have some problems, like rataling and air conditioning, but nothing big, my dad and i combined have had 7 F-150's since 1999 and have never had any issue with them, so go with the f-150, its the best truck on the market

if you plan on ever putting a cap on your pick-up, get the Expy.

I bought the EL w/the towing package and all I can say is, man, what a ride.......

For me the F150 Screw works out better, I've had the suvs and they are nice but no matter how much room they have I always seem to need either the height or lenght for carrying something that I can't stuff in the suv. I had the same decision to make when I bought my 06, I wound up buying the F150 Screw KR model because I wanted the luxury and the 5.5 truck bed with extender. Also I think that a 4x4 truck would have a better resale than the suv especially with future gas prices. Good luck.

i have both a 07 F150 SCREW and a 07 Expy limited and have 3 kids (all in car seats). bought them both in december and have to say i love them both. i fit the wife and three kids in the F150 with no problems. we just got back from a week long camping trip in the F150. It all depends what you need. if you just need room for a growing family and want a pickup, then get a F150 Screw.

I recently traded in my 04Screw FX4 for an 07XLT SCrew F150 and a EB EXP. I can tell you that both are fun to drive. I do like the suspension on the EB EXP better as it seems to have move room for travel in the front end making the ride a little better. I would recommend the 2nd row Captains chairs as it gives you plenty of space to get to the 3rd row if needed.

I have owned an 04 EB Expy and an 04 F150 Screw FX4 and I would say to definetely go with the F150. Both of mine got about the same gas mileage and I don't realize how much I use the truck bed untill I try to put something in the back of an SUV. On top of that the Screw F150 holds 5 people very comfortably. Definetely go with the 5.4L though, so much better than the gutless 4.6L with that weighty truck.

i had the same issue when i bought my 07 expedition. Couldnt decided between the f150 or the expedition.

What everyone has mentioned is true. If you travel or go on trips often the expedition would be the way to go, or even if you drive alot. Sure the F150 can carry 5 people, but so can damn near any other car/truck on the market. Can the F150 carry 5 people plus 5 sets of luggage securely....no....unless you put a cover over the bed, which defeats the purpose of having the bed in the first place.

I enjoy the outdoors alot, hunting fishing etc. I purchased the husky liner for the rear of the expedition and have no problem throwing a deer or coolers back there. To clean it just pull it out and hose it off. A few times a year a large group of us go to Louisiana to go fishing, about a 6 hour drive. I dont have to worry about any of my stuff getting stolen when we are inside eating or parked anywhere. Sure there are the times I wish I had a bed or even needed it to move something, easily fixable, get the 4 wheeler trailer out of the garage and use it...no biggie.

The very few times I have needed a truck, I borrowed one of my buddies trucks.

The only problem having the expedition is that anytime a group of friends wants to go out I usually get stuck driving.

If we didn't need to haul around two little kids in car seats plus me and my parents we would of bought a F-150 Supercrew. We love the Expedition, but if you don't need one, I would definitly get the F-150. My aunt has an 06 F-150 supercrew and has three kids and has no problems, where my other aunt has on 03 Expedition and only 2 kids, just personal preference.
