Here is one for the WVO tech guide if we ever get one
The last three or four week my filter vacuum gage has been getting higher and higher. Normal sign of the filter coming to the end of it's life. I didn't think anything of it since the filter had over 8,000 miles on it.
I change the filter and no improvement. Vacuum needle was way up in the red stll. So as I'm driving in to work each day I'm racking my brain to understand what is different or what changed. I assumed oil but my brother-in-law says nothing changed with it. Temps have been cool in the morning arond 30-40F
Well yesterday the radiator fan came on high speed in stop and go traffic with outside temp 60F, so I glance down at the temp gage and it about 3/4 up. I turn on the cabin heater and it goes back to middle.
Now I know what is wrong with my veggie filter, I've lost coolant and my guess is the hotfox isn't hot nor is the Vormax since no coolant is flowing to them.
I make it home since the temps stayed down once I got out of the stop and go stuff. Sure enough I needed about two gallons of coolant when I look at home
My guess is I have one of the classic 6.0 coolant leaks but I've never seen any drips on the driveway or have not spelt any coolant leaks while driving.
I'm searching over on the 6.0 forum to see what's up

From what I've seen on the 6.0 section on FTE. It's the EGR cooler tube. They leak often on the 6.0.
I havenot gone to the dealer yet. I'm going to run it a bit longer and see how much i'm loosing.
As for the Vormax it works great when the coolant is flowing. But, since I lost so much I don't think it was flowing back there any longer. The hoses to my Hotfox were not even warm when I got home on Friday. The Vormax is after the Hotfox so I doubt it was seeing any heat.
I'll let everone know how it goes wen I get around to getting it fixed
