Quick question on the newer F150's. I get many people here at Blackstock who ask me the difference in fuel economy between the 5.4 and the 4.6 ltr engines. Have any of you ever driven both for any given length ? Is the difference between the two very much ??

Word on the street is that the difference between the two isn't that much. The 5.4 is (obviously) a bigger engine so it doesn't have to work as hard as the 4.6 to move that big truck. I will see if I can find you a link....

I was getting 13-14 on average day to day useage on my 4.6 and from what most talk about they get 16-17 on the 5.4 but they seem to get better on the highway then the 4.6 did.

 

alot depends to on what rear end gears that are in the truck. I got better mpg in my truck with the 3.08's that I used to have in her. Now I've got 3.55's
