I think I'd go with the 6cylinder cumins, no replacement for displacement. Plus dodge makes crappy parts so there are alot of aftermarket upgrades available.

the Cumins in 60CI per cylinder, if it was an 8cyl it would displace 480ci. More cubes per cylinder makes for bigger pistons and longer strokes. Plus it's an inline motor, so 7 main caps, more mains than cylinders makes for a very strong bottom end.

What can I say, I like the inline motors. Plus the cumins that I have driven pulled like farm tractors, than cars.

RebB's 03 CR hit 1008hp Saturday, according to the posts over on DTR. Unfortunetly blew the HG at the end of the day.

Maddog had beast at the same event. Trailered in, but stated (in the DTR forum) that he's using as his street vehicle at an event this week.

AFAIK Maddog is running big compound twins and no "drugs" while Reb is running a big single and NOS/Meth.

for RACE purposes there is no argument against 12V cummins. Huge aftermarket, and though it has already been said, inline motors are naturally better at holding together. I love my new PSD but Cummins makes a hell of a motor....or....used to anyway :P

Duramax for drag racing and it is streetable. You also have better fine tuning for launching in any application via EFI Live. I think nolimit diesel performance is in the 10's.

Not to mention, building boost on a dyno, and at the truck pulls is completely different then trying to light a big turbo or even twins at a track. Esp if this motor is going in anything but a truck, it could be a real challenge to stage a cummins in a car.

Just a thought.

I am on dieselplace also.

I agree with Lukecline! Maddog got it done with the 12v in the OBS 350. That truck is sick!

I might eat my words, but nastygirl has an ace in the hole. Both are sweet trucks no doubt.
