Question about options

First off, you guys run a very nice forum! Keep it up! I am looking at ordering an '07 Expedition limited-dark copper-charcoal with caramel inserts; with convience package, 20 inch rims and rear load leveling suspension. My question is about the suspension. Is the air suspension just in the rear or all the way around. Even though I dont tow, I have members of our family that may ride in the vehicle that could you that "Squat" when they are getting in - comes with age i guess! This doesnt just happen in the rear, correct? The whole vehicle squats? And also, is it prudent to also order the heavy duty towing package just for the better radiator and external transmission cooler? Again I don't tow, however, the added cooling features seem to be an bonus when it comes to longevitiy. One other thing. The interior i am looking at, the caramel inserts look like kind of a copper color in the brochure which I think would compliment the copper exterior, however, I havent seen it in person. Feedback anyone? Thanks in advance.

I just got my Limites with load-levelling today. The vehicle does not appear to "squat" to any noticeable degree like some of the older model years described in these forums. After the vehicle has sat for awhile, I hear the compressor run for only a few seconds upon startup. The 07 levelling system is on the REAR only. I think this is why it does not squat, because only the rear would drop down. I measured my rear hitch height with the engine running and after being parked, and there is no difference. The levelling system seems to run the air compressor just to firm up the rear suspension for the load it detects. I haven't loaded anything. I'll update this when I put the boat trailer on in a couple days and observe the operation.

I saw the 2-tone black/brown interior you are talking about. Yes, the color is in the copper sort of tone, but I felt it was a bit orange looking. Not my thing. We got tri-sand white with stone inside.

BTW: This ride is sweet!!!

According to the Ford website the air suspension is rear only. I also read on the website that when you activate 4 wheel drive it increases the ride height by one inch.

When you build the vehicle on the website and you get to the options, when you click on the rear load leveling it states that the vehicle raises one inch when placed in 4x4 and when it is placed in park the vehicle "lowers" to get in and out easier. But my impression was the vehicle only had the system in the rear so that is why i am asking. If it was only in the rear, you would think that the rear would raise 1 inch in 4x4 but not the front and the opposite would happen when the vehicle went into park.

I have to agree, I saw it in a black Limited and did not like it at all. I went with the solid seats instead. Really a taste sort of thing so I would suggest seeing it in person before ordering.

Well I got a chance to see the interior, loved it! Placed the order on Wednesday! Dark Copper-Black/caramel interior. 20" rims, convienence package, and heavy duty trailer package. Dealership said i would get a tracking number to follow the vehicle through its construction phase online. Anyone else do this? 6-8 week turn around- cant wait!
