salvage title questions

Guys I really hate DMVs but the one here in St George sucks worse than any other one in the great state of SC by far. Has anyone here got a salvage title and what was your reasoning?

Heres why: Im working on a 77-79 F150 4x4 truck but dont have a title. I say 77-79 because I have a 77 frame 79 cab hood grill and axles 78 bed doors and fenders and 74 460. I have the title for the 79 truck that the cab came off but it was a 2wd long bed truck. I dont want to spend a bunch of money on this truck then cant get a title. Its completely stripped down now so its not like I could take it to the DMV and show them. They are too stupid to realize that trucks have frames.

Another option could be if one of you guys have a title with no truck and didnt need it you could give it to me and I could give you money in a totally unrelated deal.

If you have the cab for the 79 and the title for it. The vin number is on the top of the dash.Thats what they look at DMV or any other place that you would need to identify the vehicle.
Just make sure you use the dash out of the 79 and you should be good to go.

Maybe Im not explaining myself. Im just piecing a truck back together from parts laying around. I bought the 79 F150 lwb because the cab was in such good shape and the cab that was on the 77 swb frame was junk. The only place 73-79 Vin numbers are found is on the drivers side door rivited to the bottom. I have the original vin tag off the 77 4x4 swb which is what Im putting back together but I dont have titles for the 3 other trucks that Im using to put 1 back together. I guess its confusing

If you have a matching title and VIN plate, use it. No other remedy or answer needed. If you are worried about the VIN on the frame rail, just obscure it with a hammer and restamp it.

I have a car with a salvage title. It was totaled and someone got it out of the junk yard and rebuilt it.Now it is salvage titled.
You should look in to how to get that for the truck your building.
Or is there a vin on the 79 somewere that could be used?
I did not realize that late models vins whereat on the dash yet.
