PCM breakout box

Today I was doing some troubleshooting and the manual wanted me to disconnect the PCM and install a breakout box to verify if wiring was intact. Anyone know where I can get a breakout box at a reasonable price? Are they even available?

Search EBAY for an EEC-V breakout box sometimes you can find one under 400, or PM me your email address and I'll send you the instructions on how to make one yourself that almost lets you read all of the parameters. Is this related to your post on ITP's forum.

pcm breakout box

My understanding for a PCM break out box is to take a non working PCM and cut the connector side off, then remove the Circuit board from the back side of the PCM connector. Find PCM wiring connector from FICM, Transmission, and ECM and solder to the back side of the PCM connector with test points wired to each wire.

Which is what I am doing and need the pigtail wiring with at least 12 inch wire to make my PCM breakout box

A PCM breakout box is a 104 pin connector that mates to the truck's PCM connector at the firewall, that extends into a bundle of at least 104 wires that is long enough to reach from the firewall under the dash to a comfortable working position (longer than 12"... about three or four feet would be much better) to a box having 104 banana plug testing ports, to another bundle of 104 wires terminated by a connector having 104 sockets to mate to the PCM being tested.

Such a device enables the PCM to be connected to the vehicle (via the breakout box) while at the same time being able to test the voltage of each individual circuit into and out of the PCM, including the 5V reference circuits and the gradients thereof with the engine running.

What "transmission connector" would be of any use in making a 104 PIN 1999-2003 PCM break out box??

Below is an example of the "box" part of a 104 pin breakout box. Ignore the NGS scan tool. This particular break out box may look a little bit different than what a Ford dealer might have or than what is sold on eBay, as it is not the Rotunda / OTC service breakout box, but rather is a product development breakout box, yet it has the same principle and pin count:
