I have a 97 F-150 short box. I bought a set of Goodyear Wrangler AT/D2 tires from Sams this a.m. (265/70/R16, up 1 size from stock). Where should I run the inflation for a decent ride and good tire wear/mileage? Door tag says 29 psi front and 32 psi rear. This seems to low. Thanks!

 

I have Pathfinder Trail A/P's on my truck and have them set at about 5psi below the max on the tire. My door says the same on my 97 as yours hellbent. My tires are 255/70 R16

 

When I take mine to the dealer for service, they always set them to 32.

 

I keep my 285/75/16 Destination M/T's at 35psi all the way around.

 

i got the same Goodyear Wrangler AT/D2 tires from sams, but i got the 255's... the tires say max psi is 44 and i have them right around 40 and have a pretty damn smooth ride, i wouldnt think goin down into the 30s would be such a great idea, may cause additional wear n tear. IMO i'd go with what the specs on the tires are and not the specs on the door, considering those aren't the same tires it comes with stock

 

I had Sams set them up A 38 psi front and back. It's hard to get anyone to commit to "real" advice due to liability and whatnot. At this point I'm trying to get the most mileage and reasonable handling out of the tires. Thanks all for the replies!
