Exclamation Is here a thing of 351 HO?

I am looking in buying a 1986 F150, to replace my 81 f100 both are 4x4. The guy said that the motor is a 351 HO. I have looked and looked and have not found anything that says there is a 351 ho in pick-ups. Some in the police cars. My question is if the motor is a 351 HO, is it a cleveland or winsor ? Thanks

Ifyou can't get your answer here, you may want to check with sbftech.com There are some really good engine guys over there.

Good Luck!

I had one that was swapped into a work van. It's a Windsor engine if I remember correctly

I had an '85 Bronco with a 351 HO engine. It was a 351 Winsor, not sure what made it the HO, but that is what the air cleaner cover said. It is not an easy motor to find.

If I'm not mistaken, the HO had a 4 barrel carb whereas the standard 351 had a 2 barrel. If there were any other differences I'm not sure.

It had a 4bbl Holley carb and a marine camshaft. I've seen them in 85-87 trucks. The air cleaner says 351 4V HO

im 99% sure the 302 HO's were roller motors, I dont see why the 351's were'nt. Keep that in mind when shopping for cams and engine parts.

No it was not a roller, those didn't appear until the mid 90's. It is a standard flat tappet hydraulic cam with more lift and duration than the standard 351W. It is actually a torque building cam that was designed for boat engines IE: marine cam.
