95 psd won't start after sitting for a while
My 95 powerstroke didn't start this morning, after sitting all night. Not too cold here, about 35 this morning. I got out, and turned the water/fuel valve on the side of the filter housing, and let it drain for a few seconds, got back in, and it started right up. Went to work, truck sat for about 6 hours, tried to start it, and again....no start....tried to drain fuel out of the water seperator, and nothing came out that time. So I pushed in the bleeder valve on the housing, and nothing came out.....but after I did that, it started up. When the truck is warm, it starts up just fine. I do have smoke coming out of the exhaust when trying to start...
I don't know...but maybe has something to do with my programmer?? I have an edge evolution, that had to get fixed, and when I tried to use it last night, it kept on saying communication error. It read my vin #, but when trying to program, says sommunication error..?? Not quite sure what is going on...any help would be great..

Here is simular problem tread.
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/5...-starting.html
1 Please look at the link below. If your temprature outside is 10 F
Then you need to wait 120 seconds.(thats provided all circutry is in working order)
Wait to start lamp is independent and not a real good indicatior of wait time.
I would try cycling the key twice and waiting at least 120 seconds. (total)

2 Get a jump start or recharge batteries and bring em out room temperature and try starting righ away, since cold batteries are not as powerfull.

well, figured out the problem. It was my glow plug relay. I just jumped it, across the two big terminals for about 10 seconds, and it started right up.
Now I have another problem though. Tried programming it with my edge evolution programmer, and while it was reading my settings, it lost communication somehow?? Now, the check engine light is on, and truck won't start at all. My code reader says that it cannot connect??? Did I screw up my PCM?? If so I wonder if edge would warantee that??
