2000 f250 emergency brake cable problem

I replaced the emergency brake cable from pedal and when I got ready to hook up to other cable under truck, it was about 2 inches too short. I can't see any adjustments to make cables meet under truck. Any suggestions?
The truck is 2000 f250 4x4 diesel. The old cable just snapped at the connection to the pedal.

Welcome to FTE!!

You could always use a turnbuckle style adjuster with the eye bolts on each end. Use some generic cable loops to make the eyes on each end of the cable and connect the turnbuckle to it... This setup would give you some adjustability to make sure that you got your tension correct and could keep it that way as the new cable stretches.

To keep vibration from allowing the turnbuckle to come loose, you could first take the eye bolts out of the turnbuckle housing and run a single nut up the bolt as far as it goes... do this on each end. Run your cable ends through each eyebolt. Clamp each cable closed around the eyebolt opening. Reinstall the eyebolts back into the housing. Adjust for proper tension. Tighten your two nuts down against the housing as a "jam nut". Voila... tight and stays that way. To adjust tension in the future, just loosen the jam nuts, tighten the housing on the eyebolts, and retighten the jam nuts again.

Should be able to find all the parts at Home Depot or any other hardware store (look in the rope/wire rope/cable area... everything's there).

emergency brake cable problem fixed

Thanks for the input. I found the problem. I feel really dumb. All I had to do was push the emergency brake pedal up with my hand and that gave me the necessary cable length needed.
