theres a story behind mine...

it came from my highschool drinking days, their was talk around my group of friends that a cirtain gas station would sell cigarettes to minors, it was a old run down dump owned by a middle eastern family, you know the type. after a couple months of buying cigarettes and rolling papers there, i finally got the courage to walk up to the counter with a case of bud. it was the summer after 10th grade, i had huge sideburns and almost a full beard.

i walked up to the counter and the guy asked for my id, a older guy that i didnt know was standing behind me, he said to the cashier "dont waist your time jimbo here is 24". the cashier noded i handed him the exact change and i walked out, when i got in the car my buddy fliped he couldnt believe they sold me beer. later that night we had a party planed we cruised up to the station and i bought almost 100 bucks worth off liquor, we got trashed. the story bounced around between my friends and the nickname jimbo stuck with me, it was changed to jimmy a couple times and then they finally started calling me jimbo beam or jimmy beam. most of my old buddys have wierd nicknames, just a few here - bread, clawk, big "A", little "a".

i usally use either jimbo or jimbo beam when i sign my name on anything thats not important. its my user name in a few forums, its just been stuck with me for almost 7 years now.

My current handle is a reflection of my similarities to Dr. Frankenstein

Just a little crazy, resurrecting something with different parts of many different vehicles into a monster

. . .Well, movie Frankenstein

gearhead auntie is sort of self explanatory... My nephew is a geek who can't work on his own car and I am always dreaming of more power, more tech, more torque...

I also took a 69 VW Beetle and gave a Toyota Camry a very serious spanking with it! It was soooo worth the look on the kids face, even though I shorted the ignition out on the bug! The 69 Beetle had a dual port 1600 out of a 70 bus. Just a plain old single solex carb too! I don't think the kid knew anything about double shifting or that the old bug can turn on a dime...((snicker)). We raced on a windy road going uphill. I beat him and then the car died. The ignition wire rattled loose and hit the brake wire and shorted out, but it was worth watching the kid sweat it over a little "Herbie" car!
The bug, affectionately named "Alfie, Herbie's twisted cousin" belongs to my sister and is repaired I am happy to report!
