48 Ford

I have found a 1948 Ford pick-up for sale and would like to buy it for a restoration project. This would be my first pick-up project and would like to know if there are any paticular things I should look for on a 48' Ford. ie.-missing parts that are hard to find, problem areas, etc.

I just bought a 1948 F-1 from the orgininal owner in Texas. it was already redone except for the wiring. i had to have some things done for the engine and they told me it was a 49 engine because the distributor was at the front top left hand side. they put the 49 engines in the trucks then according to info from web sites. but talkeda to other guys and its pretty easy to find parts for it. if youy have a chance go to the super nationals in pigeion forge Tennesee in May 18,19,20,21 It is well worth the trip and there are venders down there. went last year and had a ball

No offense, Bob, but this thread is nearly 10 years old.
