How many satisfied F-series owners out there?
What is the mileage and what repairs (if any ) done on your truck. i just want people who browse thorough this forum (Especially the 6.0 forum ) and see all the problems to show them that are is a signifigant number of Fords with little or no problems!
I'll go first just purchased a 2006 F150 and couldnt be happier and in my choice. best truck ever built in my opinion. so cant really comment on how it'll be in future

My first F-series was a 93 F-250 2x4 with the 460 and E4OD trans. At 168K the E4OD went out and since the 460 was buring a quart every 300 miles I replaced both. I was towing construction equipment by this time and it only took 20K for the trans to go again. It was a salvage so who knows what happened. The 3rd E4OD went out in the next 15K so I then installed a C6 (bought for $200 unlike the thousands I was spending on E4ODs) and it worked flawlessly untill the day I sold the truck. I ended up selling the truck because it was now at 200K+ having nothing but electrical problems.
My next F-series was a 77 F-250 2x4 with the 460 and C6 trans. At 86K I found it in a barn in Iowa. It had plywood scrap for a floorboard when I found it. I welded in a replacement floorboard, replaced the clogged radiator, beefed up the rear suspension and installed 3T pump hoist. This was by far the best Ford truck I ever owned. I beat it day in and out for work including hauling a mini backhoe to jobs. It was great. Then some jerk T-boned it and bent the frame pretty bad.
My last F-series was an 85 F350 DRW with the 460 and a 4 speed MT. At 146K I bought it in a HURRY to replace the smashed up 77 so I could get back to work. This truck was nothing but a money pit. Everything from broken body mounts to snapped rear leaf springs. I bought it dirt cheap so you get what you pay for. This truck made it another 20K and then spun a cam bearing. Today it's being recycled for a better life.
Moral of the story, if it's a high milage truck with a dealer spit shine (the 93) or its a dirt cheap farm truck (the 85) you might want to keep looking. Between these and my last BII I'm done with high milage Fords.

99 F150 4.6 auto 2wd ext. cab. pushing 165K miles
Alternator (at 145k miles). It didn't die, but was showing signs.
Battery (at 6 yrs. old)
Brake light switch
CC recall
Ball joints and tie rods (one Ball joint was bad for sure, replaced everything while I was down there) this almost fall under normal wear and tear to me.
Front speakers were distorting, replaced them all.
Passenger signal mirror glass fell out when a box hit it, both replaced/upgraded under warranty...somehow (before I bought it).
About to replace windshield due to pitting.
just normal wear items (brakes shocks bulbs etc.) and normal maintenance besides that. A few upgrades as well, but they weren't needed, just wanted.
Gotta stop posting in these threads, I feel like I'm cursing myself .

1994 F-150 4x4. Once it turned 100K it was straight downhill. The 5.0 choice was a mistake, as there was no torque to speak of with 3.55 gears, making the climb up this mountain miserable. Fragging E4OD's and rear axle, oil leaks, coolant leaks, cracked plastic disc brake pistons, corroding battery and starter wiring. I did not do heavy towing or otherwise abuse it. Mileage was in the 10-15 range, way below the 15/18 EPA estmate. I test drove a 2004 and it felt just as weak on power, so it was a no-sale.

Bought a 1999 F250 V10 4x4. No problems. Only a alternator. The monster radio bumping sound killed the alternator. You know 1000 watts fosgate Amp will do it to you. My lights started dimming. Bought a new alternator for 200 bucks and a Capacitor 1 farad for 80 bucks from Fosgate and Bam,,,no problems...Radio is bumping loud...Wife hears me down the street when i'm coming home from work.

I bought a 92 Ranger with a 4cyl and 5 miles on the odometer, at present, my ex-wife still has the truck and it has 350, 000 on the clock, my uncle's 86f-250 with no shocks, tired beat up body and suspension has 300k on the odometer, and that's not counting the 2 years the speedo was broken until he got it fixed. This old truck still runs good (460, 4sp) it still pulls out chevy's in deep snow, his boat and hauls his 13ft slide in old camper, I think I'll send this truck in for a commercial, I see missle field Ford expeditions and f-350's with a 5.4 liter v-8's with an average of 200-250k miles on the odometer with just normal maintenance, my old 1990 f-250 had 150k when I sold it to a rancher in east Glacier MT and it is still being run to this day, at present my 2000 f-350 7.3L has 138k on it and my 1999 Expedition has 120K on it and runs like a clock, I just perform routine maint. on it. I'll always own Fords!!!!
