New Snow Tires... and other useless things in this weather.
Bought them during the last white out... haven't had to use them since.
BTW -

Amazing tires... just wish I needed them for once this winter. What a let down.
The 4 wheeler, the 6 wheeler, and the plow have been sitting rotting...
And the weather is too crappy to want to do anything.
Just looking forward to the tax return... new motor for the 6 wheeler, new parts for the 4 wheeler, and the lift + tires for the truck... and probably run more power out to the barn for the drill press and table saw I just got.
Think 60 amps is enough? Suggestions?

Finished stripping the 6 wheeler down to a bare frame... with rust.. so I'm going to sandblast and wirebrush the crap out of it. Paint.
And throw this in:
New B&S Vanguard 18HP Vtwin...
I might get some pics of the rest of it tonight if I get out there during the batches I'm running for work... probably get pics of all the toys in the barn... lol

More progress pics... sorry for the quality...
Skidsteer transmission, and other stuff I pulled off (chain guards, sprockets, hubs, motormounts) Those are all painted now.
Frame, as bare as it is going to get.
Storage for the body.... some rachet straps, muscle, and then some 1/4" x 3' zip ties.
And this is why the body is up in the air: Storage underneath. Wheels/tires/lawnmowers/trailers... etc
And the next Project : highly modified 250 Blaster... kinda small for me but it will rip with the wife on it. Needs motor mounts, and the frame re-welded...
Also the Cub Cadet in the pics has seen some action, about 4-6" of snow... after a plug change it ran really nice, blew through it in no time.

lol, and that little Cub Cadet is getting a work out lately. Another 6" or so today...
and leaving my driveway on the way to work the guy in front of me, not 1000 feet from my house spins out into a ditch in a saturn. I ask him if he wants me to pull him out, and he says my truck probably won't be able to do it. I look at the truck, and back at him and tell him if my truck doesn't get him out... exactly what kind of truck do you think you need... ?
he said a tow truck. lol.
I guess I see the logic... he is 20' into a field, on the frame. I could have gotten him out and on his way, but instead I just went to work a little late. I need another tow strap incase someone gets deeper into a field, I wouldn't be able to get him if he had.

Wow, you guys in the Buffalo area are getting hit. I still don't have enough snow here to plow. Maybe by the weekend just to clear things up.
I hear you on the stuck car issue. Be real careful in helping people out though. A buddy of mine helped someone out like you were trying and then was sued for damages to the car. Lucky for him the mechanic they took their car to said the damages were a result of going off road and not from the recovery.

be careful, this is what happens when you use a "truck" to pull a saturn out of the snow!

frank - I saw that before, but that is classic!!! What a bunch of morons!! That is the problem with unibody vehicles in that there is nothing there to hook onto. I don't have a copy of it, but I saw a video of a Jeep XJ on the Rubicon have an ARB winch bumper get ripped off of the front when they were winch it out of the tub.
