Put it out of it's misery finally. They could've made a competent vehicle to compete, but like so many things Ford (that were not fseries or mustang) it just kind of got ignored until it was useless in the segment.

Ford had a great start with Windstar, but that was it. In the past years no improvements were done to Freestar, it looked like Ford didn't care at all.

Car & Driver tested the Freestar when it was introduced and pronounced it a piece of crap. They said they would rather have the 5 year old design Hyundai van then the "Newly Remodeled" Freestar.

If fact, the whole tone of the article was "Why did Ford bother".

The minivan market is dying. Minivan slaes overall for all automaker has been in decline for a while. The new Crossover market is where the action is. The new Edge is a vehicle that is so versaltile an Fords next hot sellar.

even Dodge is making changes to the minivan lineup because of poor sales. Declined in sales the past 3 years!

I'd like to see one of those crossover vehicles with sliding doors. That arrangement comes in real handy in garages, and tight parking lots (you know..the ones with the parking spaces labeled 'compact' that have a land yacht parked next to you).
