Visited the Yuengling Brewery today
They have a pretty interesting tour, and they have recently opened the caves up under the factory that the used to bottle and store the beer in before adequate refrigeration was available. I had done the tour before, but that was a LONG time ago, well before I was 21. You even get 2 free samples at the end! They have kutztown birch beer for the minors. I would recommend it for anyone passing through Pottsville, PA. The tour lasted about and hour, plus extra time for the samples and fiddling around the gift shop. Here's a link

Actually we did hit Cabela's on the way there. We hit Cracker Barrel for lunch, beacuse my girlfriend is nuts about their food. Did pass right by the Deer Lake Inn though. Soondg, the brewery would be a nice idea, but there is ZERO off street parking, and not a whole lot of on street parking available. Cabela's however has lots of parking, and could wind up at the top of the Conrad Weiser State Forest for some pics. Or, there is a trail going up through some state game lands that goes up and over? blue mountain. It's only about 5 min from Cabela's, but it's one way and I have no clue where it goes. My fuel was only at 1/4, so i didn't go onto the one way stretch. Anybody feeling adventerous?
Update: I just jumped over to the gamelands map for SGL110, which is the one I was talking about above, and it's good I didn't run it with only a 1/4 tank! The trail goes all the way to the top, then heads west. Various branches off of the trail, but it looks to go up to about 1600+ feet according to the topo map. May have some good views up there. I'd me up to meet at cabela's and take a ride out. There's a gas station right across the street to fill up at. Any interest?
