Hopely this isent going to replace the econoline, the dodge sprinter kinda replaced the dodge conversion van and all the sprinter basically is is a rebadged mercedes.
If I am thinking about the right vehicle this is more along the size of the PT Crusier/Chevy HHR so it shouldn't bother E series sales. I like the way it looks, clean, pleasing lines, something a little different. Might not be a high volume seller but could see it doing very well as a small city delivery vehicle
Lets hope it's a big seller...and I hope Ford gets it right, the first time. Some of the stuff brought here from Europe was woefully unprepared for the US market.
Hey Ford: Do it right, we don't need anymore Scorpio's!
From experience - some of Fords European cars are some of the best cars in the world at the moment.
The current Focus they have there (make mine an orange ST225), the forthcoming Mondeo, the new Transit, and the S-max are all class leaders in thier own right...

I don't disagree with you, but when the XR4Ti and Scorpio were brought here, they were woefully unprepared for the US market. One row radiators might be acceptable in Europe, but not in AZ..especially when the a/c is switched on!
So my point is...Ford, please prepare these vehicles for hot weather.
Now that I read little more Id be happy to c these here, I think Us ford should ship over the euro focus and this transit, also ship over a au falcon, or atleast take note there power plants they use.

I think that is the plan over the next few years. Ford is going to bring the full-sized Transit over here to replace the E-Series. They have already done so in Mexico, but they are sold along side with the E-Series (but for how long). Canada is next and then the US, so I've heard.
I don't want the E-Series to go away neither. They take up over half the full-sized van market and have done so for almost 30 years. So why fix what ain't broke.
Seems to me E150 will dissapeare. But E350 will stay. When Sprinter appeared in Germany old MB10X, MB20X dissapeared, but Vario is still made. So Transit can replace small e-series vans and may be small version will get Aerostar segment.
I think this is a great van. It fills a segment that we have nothing for now. Mini vans have too much content, too expensive and not very economical. This is an excellent tradesmans' small van that should be economical and manuverable. I think it may cut into the pickup market to some degree.
