HTML in posts and signatures

Due to recent updates from the VBulletin team to stop cross site scripting exploits, and recommendations from them in the setup screens, HTML in signatures were recently turned off. HTML in posts will be turned off later this week.

VBulletin supports BB codes, covered in detail the full post reply screen, which will handle 99.9% of the formating or link capabilities needed for posts and signatures. I've received no complaints from turning off HTML in sigs for the past several days so if you have trouble don't be paranoid and think its you. Just use BB codes instead of HTML.

In computing, HyperText Markup Language (HTML) is the predominant markup language for the creation of web pages. It provides a means to describe the structure of text-based information in a document — by denoting certain text as headings, paragraphs, lists, and so on — and to supplement that text with interactive forms, embedded images, and other objects. HTML can also describe, to some degree, the appearance and semantics of a document, and can provide additional cues, such as embedded scripting language code, that can affect the behavior of web browsers and other HTML processors.

For answers to BB codes, and other common questions, you'll find information in (who would have guessed? ), the fprum FAQ (frequently asked questions).

From searching Google.

What is BBCode?
BBCode is a special implementation of HTML. Whether you can use BBCode is determined by the administrator. You can also disable it on a per post basis from the posting form. BBCode itself is similar in style to HTML: tags are enclosed in square braces [ and ] rather than < and > and it offers greater control over what and how something is displayed. For more information on BBCode see the guide which can be accessed from the posting page.
