Greeting Nevada:
I have a niece who is working in Las Vegas and has had a few car issues. The places she has gone to has gone have tried to rip her off like telling her she needed a $1,600 brake job, and there is only so much we can do over the phone from here in Kansas City.

Does anyone in Las Vegas have the name of a trustworthy shop or would be willing to help her determine exactly what was needed?
Thanks!

The only reputable shop I know in Las Vegas is Competition Transmissions, behind the Rio. They might be able to direct you to a good shop.

I can find out what kind of shops my shop deals with, or if any of our mechanics would be willing to do a side job. I work as a body-mans assist. at Fletcher Jones Toyota Collision Center. I'll let you know on tue. or wed. If it can't wait that long, then try the shop that was mentioned earlier.

It can wait, I am looking for options when she has trouble in the future.
Thanks, Bryon

Really... like what? I am looking to change my 02 from a manual to an auto... on the floor. I dunno how much work tha will take though, the tranny is pretty much shot on my truck, and I have to buy a new clutch, so.... I just thought I would try and make it an auto.

MY buddy took his 97 chebby xcab 4x4 with a 6in lift and a 2 or 3in body lift in there cuz the tranny wasn't doing too well. Needless to say it was in and out of there for a good month and the last time it was in there he said he had to keep it 4 the weekend cuz it wasn't done and my buddy saw him at Mcdonalds in the drivethrough with his kids in there. I was laughing so hard, was crappy though. when my friend asked wtf he was doing with it on the weekend the guy told him a test run LOL. A good reliable tranny shop that I use is on Valley view and spring Mt. Choice trans, he is a friend of my uncles and is a really up front guy. I dunno anything about ur swap I don't get under much newer stuff... scared of wiring.LOL Have you been in the SD forum for some swap info?

Competition Trans on Valley View is a real good shop. It is owned and ran by a father & son. They did work for me and I was very pleased. They have been in business in Las Vegas for about 27 years. If you need trans work done I highly recommend them.
