Please help...
2001 f150 H.D. Supercrew, 5.4L "L" code.
65,000 Miles
No MIL\CEL light or codes

She won't start. ran fine the last time I drove it, which was 2 days prior. Cranks over fine and hits occasionally, but will not run. It sounded like it was out of gas, so I tested the fuel pressure at the fuel rail and found 40psi during the 3 second pump-up when you first turn the key and a drop to 35psi after the 3 secs. which held with key on or off. Is this enough pressure?

That's enough. It should be 30-45 psi.
If you hold the throttle open a bit does it make any difference? Have you tried holding the throttle to the floor in case it's flooded?
Original spark plugs?

Holding the throttle open 10% or so is the IAC test correct? If so it didn't work. The plugs were replaced at 60,000 miles with OEM (65,000 Miles now). I haven't tried throttle to the floor but the truck has been sitting for days between start attempts. What happens when the cylinder head temperature goes out of range? (Had a CEL at first but did not come on a gain after reset)

The only other thing I haven't checked out is my K&N filter. I'll see if it fires without it (duh!) maybe it's clogged?

If the air filter is plugged enough for it not to start you would have noticed that it had no power for quite a while before it finally stopped running.
I would probably pull a plug or 2 and take a look to see if you have good crisp spark and make sure they aren't flooded.
Any chance you just filled the gas tank up and got a bad load of gas?
If you scan it with the engine cold you might get a CHT out of range code. Can you monitor live data with the scan tool you used?

I got it to run. After extensive reading on the iatn site I learned about what to try if you think it's flooded (among many other things) and it worked. Why it flooded? Your guess is as good as mine! Maybe IAC sticking?

P.S. Thanks Racerguy, for helping me get pointed in the right direction
