Timing Marks on 2001 Ranger 3.0

I'm getting ready to change my CPS and synchronizer. I cleaned off the damper and found the timing marks on it but I'm not completely sure what to line them up with on the timing cover. There isn't the usual kind of pointer I've seen before. Just to the right of the crankshaft sensor is a sort of triangular nub cast into the timing cover. Is this the pointer I need to line up with my TDC mark? I checked in the Haynes manual and they don't show any pictures or give any kind of description.
Thanks for any help.

in general a triangle mark is the pointer that you use. If the rest of the surface is clean and there isn't another mark then I'd say use the cast mark you're describing. Just not sure why it's on the crank and not the cam, which is where I'm used to seeing them.
