360s were '68 or later, methinks.
In '62 you would have been looking at a y block, 292. MAYBE a 352.
Now highriser heads were never offered on a 352, and a 427 highriser didn't exist in '62. You have a swapped in something there. Any signs of rewelded or different engine mounts?
I could be any FE, but 352/360/390 would be the most likely, as those are the ones as numerous as sand on the beach. 406? 427? Look for cross bolts just about the oil pan rail. 428?
How does this thing run? Will it fog the tires with half throttle? What carb and intake does it have? Transmission?
This needs to be moved to the FE threads, as this is in the wrong area, btw.

A 1962 F250 would have one of three engines. 1. 223 inline six, 2. 262 inline six or 3. 292 Y block V8 with either 2 or 4 barrel carb. The 4 bar. carb was used on the heavy duty engine.
What is the vin code? this will tell the engine. The 4th digit of the serial number.
The FE engines were not factory options until the 1965 model year.

I have just broke the block down and it turns (the flywheel) so its not blown. The heads are high riser and look good. I see a casting on the front of the block that reads C7ME-A. When I removed the flywheel I see the typical 352 number with the number 25 along side of it. I measured the bore and it looks to be 4 and a 1/8 which looks like a 390 to me.

The serial number for the truck is F25JR232463 Model F250 Trans Axle F 26. When I removed the flywheel I saw a casting number 352 with a 16 right above it. There is a C7ME-A casting on the bottom of the block. I measured a 4 1/16 bore and a 3 5/8 Stroke. I think its a 390. Does that make sense???
