The oil filter magnet MIGHT help keep ferrous particles out of your oil (check http://www.lube4life.com/oilfilters.htm for more info); the fuel line magnet has been tested before (by the EPA and Consumer Reports, I think) and was determined to be worthless for improved mpg.

Wow, there's some "interesting" reading at: http://www.magnatronic.com/product_info.php?cPath=25&products_id=32
First, they claim: "12% - 20% savings on fuel consumption (guaranteed)", which is of course total BS. Them there's some pseudo scientific babble on how it works, and then more claims, of which none of them are true:
"# Savings of Fuel
# Power enhancement that can be felt by the driver.
# Emissions drop by %60
# Much less fume in diesels
# Decarbonisation of the engine!
# Longer engine life."
And there are errors, more than I can count, everywhere. Some intentional, others are probably not.

With the internet, there is NO way you should have let this happen.
