I don't know of any that you can go and be sure to pass. Try a small independent shop you might have better luck at one of those.

Or maybe not. I'm in KC and just had to check around a bit before I found a shop that passed my truck. And in the unlikely event you've seen the inaugural fte missouri chapter truck of the month, I'm pretty sure you'd know that the inspection was a ringer.

Thank's for running interference Terry, he left himself wide open for that one. BTW, you're correct on the length of that list...

Not sure what year truck that you need the inspection but if the truck is over 25 years old there is a special provision in the Missouri historical plate statute that allows you to use a plate from the same year that the truck was manufactured. If you can find one and nobody is currently using that plate number they will reactivate that plate.

My F100 is a 1956 so I found a Missouri 56 truck plate on Ebay for $10. The State ran the numbers thru the system and found nobody currently using that particular number so they reactivated that plate. The beauty of the system is that there is no yearly inspection and no yearly smog inspection required. There is no renewal fee either - pay $25 up front and the plate is good for as long as you own the vehicle. The down side is that you need to keep a mileage log in the vehicle in case Missouri's finest stop you.

If you can hold out for a few more months, as of the 1st of the year, no more inspections, but until then....
