rear end axle code.....h9
Someone removed my rearend i.d. tag from the rear so I'm trying to find out what "ratio" my rear is.
The code on the door panel shows "H9" meaning limited slip but where can I get the gear ratio?
I think it is 3.55 but I don't know.
does anyone have a clue?

H9 = 3.55 LS
Check the tag on the rear axle though. There have been several reports of non-matching numbers between the door sticker and the rear axle tag.
The tag will be on held on by one of the differential cover bolts. If it's rusted, take a wire wheel/brush to it.
It should start out like "3L55" if it's a 3.55 LS

Since we are on the subject of missing tags, and you want to know your ratio... but are not too keen on believing the door jamb sticker -
Jack the truck up and do the turns test - 1 complete turn of the driveshaft should equal a slight bit more than 3 1/2 turns of the tire, if you have the 3.55 ratio. Or was that the other way around????
