5.4L problems.
I'm driving a 2000 F-250(4x4/4.10 gears) with a 5.4L and recently I've had some engine problems. Nothing major I don't think/hope.
When I go to accelerate the engine "chugs"(stutters, boggs down, feels like its being choked)... holding a steady speed almost always eliminates the engine stutter... at first I thought it was the coil packs but after talking with some friends and them test driving it they are convinced its a fuel problem. Since it was time for new plugs anyway I put new plugs in and it looks like the engine is running very lean.
The fuel filter is new(less than a week) so my friends and I are thinking its either one of the O2 sensors or the MAF... I have a full custom dual exhaust with no X,H,Y pipes... no cats... and my O2 sensors look pretty rough(too many trips to the woods/mud holes I guess)
I was hoping to get any ideas, maybe someone has had this problem before that could point me in the right direction.

Did it start when you had the exhaust installed? If you haven't changed o2 sensors in the last 15-30K miles, you might as well take this opertunity to do so. A ballance pipe will help bottom end torque. Clean the MAF, pull the throttle body and IAC, give them a good cleaning.
Does the exhaust smell under load/accelleration (or reving while parked?)

My truck has about 130K. After checking around its just the drivers side bank thats running lean. I ordered an O2 sensor from summit should be here in the morning. Once I wrench that off and replace it I'll clean the MAF and see how she runs then.
Yes the exhaust smells a bit under load/accelleration.
Also on the chance that a coil has gone bad I ordered 8 Accel Super coils, only because I could talk them down to $15 a coil because of a misprint on thier webpage
The problem didn't start because of the exhaust because it ran fine when I bought it and the exhaust was already on it. I'm still looking around for a Ballance Pipe... I'd need an X-pipe but because of the tansfer case the 2 exhaust pipes are run so close together I need a very tight/narrow/close X pipe and I just haven't found one yet(haven't looked real hard though)
