Subject: 2007 Ford Expedition Pricing

Today, Ford is announcing that the new redesigned 2007 Ford Expedition is bolder, more comfortable and capable, and it will feature standard Safety Canopy™ three-row side air curtains, AdvanceTrac® with RSC® (Roll Stability Control) -- along with a starting price below $30,000, including destination and delivery. In addition, the Expedition will offer the best warranty and roadside assistance package of any full-size SUV.

Across the Expedition range, manufacturer's suggested retail prices (MSRPs) have been reduced an average of $4,300, compared with 2006 models, despite more standard equipment. Base MSRPs for the 2007 Expedition range from $29,995 to $40,745. Prices for comparable 2006 models range from $33,480 to $44,460. All prices include destination and delivery charges of $820.



In addition, the new Expedition limited warranty – like all 2007 Ford brand products – begins with bumper- to-bumper coverage for three years or 36,000 miles and includes five years or 60,000 miles of powertrain coverage. The warranty is fully transferable and there are no deductibles. Complimentary roadside assistance is offered for the full duration of the warranty.



The 36-month lease-end residual values of the 2007 Ford Expedition are estimated to be as high as 49 percent – a 9-point increase compared with the 2006 model.



Expedition Prices at a Glance

For 2007, Ford has simplified the Expedition lineup to three trim levels – XLT, Eddie Bauer and Limited – and reduced starting prices an average of $4,300.



The Expedition XLT is the new entry-level model, with a starting price that is $3,485 lower than the previous base model, the Expedition XLS. All Expedition and Expedition EL models are available with 4x4 capability for an additional $2,900. The all-new Expedition EL is priced $2,650 above the comparably equipped base Expedition series.

 

I love this news! I can't wait to check these out, especially since prices have been lowered. Obviously, the full size SUV market is not what it once was but if you want one of these things, you can use that to your advantage.

 

translation: lower sticker prices mean margin reductions and an end to the big rebates. Bet anyone lunch a new one will actually invoice out for more- with rebates taken into consideration- than the prior model.

I built one the other day with an MSRP of $45k and today is was $42k+, not too shabby.

For me, the lower pricing does make a difference. My '05 MSRP was $50,100. My '07 ordered exactly the same except the addition of Extended Length, Power Liftgate and Chrome Tip Exhaust, not to mention the new larger touch screen DVD navigation and the new larger screen rear DVD entertainment system. The '07 has an MSRP of $48,610; Dealer invoice w/ holdback $44,105; Dealer Price $42,235.

I already have $1000 coming from Ford Credit for the '07 that I did not get for the '05.

All my vehicles are X-Plan priced plus rebates. I should be around $2,500 less for the updated '07.

nckracer- are we forgetting the $5,000 rebate on the '06?

 

Did they have a $5000 rebate on the '06s in Aug '05? We were not seeing rebates like that in our area at that time. AtoA.

I was demonstating the price comparison to an '05 model (2 year comparison). I can't afford to change vehicles every year.

 

We had $3000 as I recall- plus $1500 owner loyalty on a mailer, and $1000 internut coupon.

 

Even if it comes out to be a wash, it will help early model year buyers... instead of having to wait until spring for higher rebates.

Which of the two invoice numbers (with or without holdback) is the number that appears on the factory invoice sheet? I am wondering if the factory invoice #'s went down by the same amount or some lesser amount? i.e. if I am buying at Invoice minus rebates will this be good or bad for me?

Has anyone heard whether they will be adjusting the price of the 07 Explorers also? I think that is one of the last price sheets that has not come out yet... or is it out and I missed it?

Not sure- Expedition and SD prices have shrinking margins, so invoice prices have not dropped anywhere near as dramatically as MSRP's.

 

I am looking forward to seeing the Explorer prices to compare... the Expy sales dropped off 35% last year and Explorer was not far behind at 33%... so I hope they adjust the prices down a bit there also. Do you know if the Explorer price sheet has been released yet?

 

When exactly will they start hitting showrooms? Also, will the EL be delayed after the standard expy like Gm did with the Tahoe and Suburban?

 

We should start seeing them any day. My EL was built on Aug 2nd and had an ETA of Aug 17th to the dealer, it hasn't made it yet. My dealer called Ford on Fri the 18th to find out the status. Ford told them it was still at the plant on a hold, but expected it to be released any day.

 

With the way things are going at Ford I hope it's not like in the 70's. My grandfather told me his Bronco seat at the factory for several months before it shipped. Then some young sales guy tried to sale it before he took delievery.
