Old Trucks in Classic old Films

I just watched the timeless 1951 classic "The Day the Earth Stood Still" and I noticed that there is an F1 Panel truck as one of the stars of the film.

Just got me thinking, what other classic films have our favourite fords in them?

Hey, my truck came with a grill just like that!!!

I saw and old movie the other day that had a bonus built panel in it, but I've slept since then.

The original make of the parent trap: The one with Brian Keith as the dad.
It has what I think is a 1960 four wheel drive green styleside short bed.....my kids think I'm a nerd because that's my favorite part of the movie. Go figure. Sorry no pictures. Anyone else have kids who caught that one?

I remebered what it was...

Mr. Majestyk with Charles Bronson. He's a farmer who is fighting the mob, ends up driving the tar out of a 67-72 Ford truck. Dang that truck takes a beating.

"Nine out of ten Fords are still on the job" (remember that slogan?)

I enjoy looking at the Old Movies mostly for the vehicles, they had body lines and style. Not the Dog Plop of today.

Does that Panel have an insert on the roof?

O.K. two others and more recent vintage.
The truck in the Sanford and Sons TV show had a '51 in the credits and sometimes in the show. Watch the cable channel TVLand for your daily fix.
The other is the movie "Forrest Gump". Early in the movie Forrest is chased by the bully boys who torment him and he out runs them. They chase him in another '51.
There is a website which features cars in movies, just about every conceiable car in movies is listed. I'll go find the link. Its buried in my favorites somewhere.

My buddy Rusty owns this 57 panel that was originally owned by Paramount Studios. It was in the movie "The Border" and was driven by Jack Nicholson. Rusty and I hauled it home from San Jose. Stu

The movie "twister" has a 56 parked in front of the garage where he gets his tire fixed.

The awnold movie "the last action hero" has a 56 in the chase.

Either goober or gomer on andy griffith drove a 56.

Mtflat,
I was wondering if someone would post a bonusbuilt link. I will add one of my favorites already in the bonus built website. Blackboard Jungle (1955)with Glenn Ford. A 1948-50 F2 or F3 delivers some newpapers to a paperstand, the driver is then robbed by some punks in the movie. I hope that never happens to me.

Just watched "Porky's" the other night (OK, not Oscar material) and there is a '51 F-1 with a crappy two-tone paint job prominently featured. TONS of old cars in it, all perfectly restored, just like they were "in the day", right?!

Don't forget "Thunder Road", one of my favorites, and "Bagger Vance" has several old Fords! (They were new then!)

Gee for a second there, I thought I saw a post by me that I didn't post.

Well anyway, "Thunder Road" was a favorite of mine also.

yes, that '56 was driven by both Gomer and Goober. I think it belonged to Wally who owned the "fillin' station." One of the best episodes with the truck is when Barney gives Gomer a ticket for making a U-turn. Gomer then gives Barney a citizens arrest for doing the same. Great show, great truck!
