Tonneau cover part question

I own a Extang Classic Tonneau and I just had a question regarding the piece that lies on the tailgate. This piece is the end piece for the tonneau cover as it holds the end of the tonneau down. On the bottom side of this piece, there is a long ribbed strip of rubber padding to prevent any scratches. On the corners of this piece, there are two gray curved foam pieces that serve a similar purpose. One of these gray foam piece came loose and fell off. Can I use silicone to put it back? Or shall I use something stronger such as Crazy Glue? I think silicone would do just fine......

I used contact cement, about 2 yrs. ago, no problem...I think trim cement from an auto store would also work great.. I think silicone would make to mushy of a bond?
