Steve,

Every time I say something, work grinds to a halt for one reason or another. I hope really soon. The driveshafts are the last thing I wanted to do on the back end of the truck for now. Replaced all the rear brakes, hardware and e brake cables, and of course new shocks as well. That should cover everything other than a gear change when I put the bigger tires on. I have a little bit of body work to finish up on the front end now & then squirt some paint on it. I guess it is time to order the window felts etc.. I hope it will be on the road no later than June 1 !

Hehe, I keep saying I'll have mine done by Fall. . .but then I go out in my garage and look at the half finished axle on the bench. . .and start thinking it might be next Fall

So, I don't think you have given us any specs on your monster yet.

Motor?
Tires?
Axles?
Mods?
Offroad exclusive, pavement pounder, or light weekend offroad?

Inquiring minds want to know

400 Engine for now, I have a couple of 460 blocks laying around that I would like to use for a 600+ cu in. project when I get the body work under control. C6 Trans. If I build a big motor, I will probably graft the C6 Bellhousing to a Turbo 400

Tires will be 38 x 12.5 x 16.5 Super Swamper TSL SX 10 Ply, keeping it lower so that it is easier to work on for now. Tires waiting in the garage.

Dana 60 Rear, Dana 44 Heavy Duty in the front. Unless I put wider tires on, the 44H.D. will be good enough !

So far, all I have done to the engine is a gear drive cam & headers. I have a 4 bbl. & manifold waiting on the bench. My wife just finished reupholstering the seat in faux aligator skin with rabit skin fur on the back side of the seat. How's that for a combination. She also recovered the headliner to match the seat. I removed the dash cover & plan on filling the holes & reworking the dash when the body work is done. Maybe I should do a retro look with the rabbit fur, like an old van .... For now ,I just painted it to match.

I don't plan on taking it off road often, after all of the body work I have done on this & all the money in paint & clear that will go on it. I will probably buy another mud truck to do that & keep this one for road use.

O.K., Here are a few pics of the seat, although the picture colors are not quite right, need to have some daylight for a better result.
