Gas Prices?!?!@#$%^&*^$%@#!

Just had to get up and let off a little steam! What's up with the freakin price of gas these days? On the way home from work today the local Raceway(used to be Racetrak) was selling regular for $2.71. Up 25 cents in 2 weeks!!!!!!!!
Was just wondering what you all down at the Va. Beach/ Hampton area are paying. But, this won't stop me from going fishing etc. and the April 22 get-together. I'm done ramblin now. Any other comments from you guys?

Wow! Yesterday it was about $2.55 here for regular. I actually broke my bike out last weekend. Rode it to the gas station to get gas for my weedwacker. Spent about $3 to fill up that little plastic can I tell you what, I will be riding my bike more and more now. Saving my truck for work and school, and longer road trips. You can really burn some gas up puttering around in the neighborhood. . .

Its really gonna hurt when I start driving my '78 hopefully before next year

Hey CAFordDude , heard Jay Leno say gas was going for $4.00 a gallon out that way. Makes me curious as to where he was getting his gas. Sometimes you have to rant, rave, and bitch a little bit to feel better, but, the price you mention isn't that different from ours.

edit: Today(Sat), the price dropped 4 cents; go figure!

I would agree not to much different. I don't know where Leno is buying his gas. Maybe since he has so many cars he just has a truck come to his garage and there is an extra surcharge..

I am braced for $3.50 for diesel before summer is out. My personal opinion on gas prices is that this has never been or ever will be about prices of a barrel of oil in the middle east or elsewhere. This has been a slow steady calculated process by gas companies and I guess big oil also to raise the floor on fuel prices. I know it sounds a little bit like a conspiracy theory but many countries across the world pay a heck of a lot more for fuel then us here in the US. And they know people will pay it because they want to drive.

Yea, I know what you mean. I have heard that the price of gas in Germany is the equivelent of paying $6.18 per gallon, so, we should think we have it pretty good here all things considered.

I think it strange that gas prices started steadily climbing after we axed the port deal with Dubai.

I am not 100% on this fact but I have heard that even though they have higher gas prices there is no such thing as car insurance. It is built into the price of a gallon of fuel. So there is no such thing as an uninsured motorist. if you buy gas and drive you are insured somewhow. I don't know if the numbers would work out as being cheaper or more expensive. I guess it would depened on how much you drove and what kind of mileage you got.

I guess I'd need a bycicle built for two 'cause the better half and I work at the same place. Two people better than one doing all that peddlin' though. 36 miles round trip to work and back. Talk about a workout! lol
WHEW!!!!!!!!
I wonder how much money I'd be saving, hmmm...............

Wouldn't even want to think about that I just save the bike for local trips. . .a couple miles each way for the most part.

BTW, put 9 gallons in my tank today to go fishing, and it cost me $25.00
