Hello everyone. In 1997 I bought my 1967 Ford Econoline Super Van from the original owner who used it as a delivery van at his furniture store. Since then I have had it partially restored...his name is scoob. Everyone in town knows this van. I am from the Monterey Bay California area. I stored him since 2000 and finally have some time to finish him. I am in the hopes of finding some originall parts for Scoob. the parts are as follows: 1) Original steering wheel complete. 2) the turn signal assembly. 3) interior armrest driver and passenger. 4) original antenna. If any one has any favorite spots they may know of...all assistance is welcomed and will be greatly appreciated. I just found an original 240 motor rebuilt by a fellow Econoline owner. Scoob is scheduled to go to the body shop next month to get touched up. This truck is the most fun I have ever had with four wheels. Scoob is completely original except for the parts I am looking for. Once again I thank anyone lending a hand with information to finish Scoob.

you should be able to get a turn signal switch from macs, if not let me know.

steering wheel you will have to have restored, and the same with the horn ring.

armrests are the same as the 61-66 f series, just switched right to left.

antennas are almost as rare as origional mirrors!

everything you are looking for shows up on ebay every so often, might keep an eye out there.

post your vin and data plate info and i will decode it for you.

Thanks Jimbare...Odd you mention EBAY, I found the armrest from a member in Hollywood last night after I posted the info. There user name/Ebay store is " Partstalker ". My VIN #E16AHB14882. Either the data plate is missing or I just plain old don't know where it is on the van. Thank's, Billy.

 

should be on the drivers kick panel area, or on the door or on the door frame. look for 4 little holes if it isnt there.

there was one guy in cali that was doing them in leather, and making them about 2 in. smaller. i will see if i can find his name and p.m. it to you.

I bought a steering wheel restore kit from an autobody supplier many years ago. It was simple to do.
All I had to do was file a V groove around the cracks in the wheel and them make the epoxy plastic and fill in the cracks. After a day or so it was hard enough, that I had file it back to the shape and notches of the steering wheel design. Then paint it afterwards with a paint that adheres to plastic. It was not that difficult. Also the same steering wheel was used right up til 74 on those vans. The only difference was horn rings.

 

I've used the POR15 steering wheel resto kit (same as the floor repair kit... just buy the putty). File the cracks as 66gpw mention, mix up the putty, stuff it in there, and let it dry. Once it's hard, sand it smooth and paint it. I've done 2 steering wheels this way and they look great and hold up just fine.

 

does anyone know for sure if the origional steering wheel off of a 68 ford van is the same (including splines and spline diamater) as the origional one off of a 67 f250 truck? tks

 

They may match spline to spline. Not sure of this.
But the truck wheel cross arms for the wheel are different I believe. Theykinda dish to the spline area, where the econolines are pretty much straight across at the arms. I think that maybe the only differenence.
As for splines you can count them. Many times wheels have been changesd with no problems.

 

thanks for your help. i'm trying to by a used on on line. i'll have to get the guy to check # of splines. i'm still worried about diameter and horn not being the same.

 

Turn signal assembly is unique to 67 econolines only. They are a pain to find but can be found on e-bay every now and then. A guy in Cali also rebuilds columns for the eonos. He has one for sure.

 

Vin can also be found stamped on the engine hump if 65 - 67 ... under the front of the piece of the doghouse or at the back corner brackets ... rear tire area

 

i know the steering wheels for econos fit from 61 to 73 but you have to change out the underside of the 68 and up hardware ... splines the same ... colour for the lates are generally green
