I just wanted everyone th know something I found out today. If you are in teh Memphis area, there is a company at Summer and I-240 called Zellners. They specalize in suspensions. They will install new Kind Pins and alline a old ford truck for $320. Took me a while to find them and I wanted to pass it along.
Might be worth driving from Covington to take advantage of. The guy I talked to at Zellners seemed real excited and proud of the fact that they could do the job right. If someone is going to work on my truck I want them to be extreemly proud of the job they do especally if it is the King Pins.
I know it has been a while but I just got Zellner's to change my king pins yesterday. 3 of the bearing surfaces had failed as well as the roller bearings on both sides. The job took them most of the day. I noticed some things about the job they did. While they had the spindles off they completely cleaned them and put a coat of black paint on them. They did a real good job and the truck drives much better. The total cost was $420 for labor, parts and an alignment. Not bad since I really feel that the job was done right and I don't have to worry about it for another 30 years.
Cost near $1000 here years ago on dads F-100, bushings had welded themselves to the arms, was so bad the wheel wouldn't return while making a turn. I knew there were issues when I couldn't get it to take grease, even after replacing the zerks, keep them greased guys.
