Radius Arms on a SAS

Radius Arms on a SAS
I have a 96 f-150 and i have begun to attempt an SAS. The axle i bought is off of a 78 F-150 and i also have bought 4 inch radius arm drop brackets from skyjacker. I am having trouble mounting the bracket. What all has to be done in order to mount this bracket and where is it mounted? Can i complete the SAS without installing the drop brackets (im doin a 4 inch lift)? If anyone has attempted an SAS and knows the solution to this problem, i would appreciate your input.
Thanks,
Will

i hope you bought the lift for the 78 F150 b/c that is the suspension you'll be working on. what you need to do is get the axle bolted in and centered and the figure where your radius arm drop mounts go. now you dont have to use the radius arm drop mounts if you are just going with a 4" lift. all you have to do is order degreed radius arm bushings and that will tilt the radius arm up and point towards the stock nracket instead of having a bracket hang down and asking for a rock or stump to catch it (although never had a problem with that)

I also got a 4 inch drop bracket for my sas, but I'm running 9 inch coils. I found that the frame on the doner rig was strait, and on my 94 was angled up, so I ditched the brackets and fabbed one up on my own. I have seen a sas done on a 80's with it just bolted to the frame, and I didn't like the angle that the radius arm was going threw the bracket. Hopefully I'll have pics on here soon of my sas.

I did the same sas setup 4 years ago on my old '94. I used the 78 radius arms and 78 brackets, 4" coils for a 78, and 4 degree c-bushings. If you try to use the '96 brackets, you will be spending a lot of time under the truck swearing. I have swap pics in my gallery. In my gallery I have a pic that shows exactly where I mounted my radius arms.
