Dear Lord, give me strength........
Okay, just kidding about the sarcasm, but that's what your F250 or F150 will be saying if you ATTEMPT to put that motor in. The 477 weighs about 1300 pounds. That's about 800 pounds more than your 351M. How long will the front end of your truck last?
The 477/534 is also a very low RPM motor, 3300 max. Gas mileage is about 3 miles per gallon and NO speed parts are available.
Stick with your 351, or if you absolutely need the cubes, drop in a 460. Good as it was, the 477/534 is an antiquated motor that Ford stopped building for a reason.

They are slow revving torque monsters. Unless you like pulling a house and going slow the 477 is not for you.

the simple answer is no. the SD engines weigh a tad bit over 1,100 lbs. which is about 400 more than a 460.

I would love to see someone actually try it. It may not be smart and it wouldn't be easy but you'd have the only one around. I love the 477 in my LT 800. I get 5 mpg in a 17,000 lb truck loaded to 33,000 1/2 of the time.

Good Luck
