Hope everyone had a happy and safe thanksgiving.

I had a great Thanksgiving and hope everyone else did as well. It was a little rough at first because I literally had 1 1/2 days notice from my wife we were gonna be hosts and not guests for thanksgiving. Regardless of the short notice everything turned out great. I wound up smoking one turkey and deep frying the other. I have been deep frying my turkeys for about 15 years but this is the first time I have ever smoked one. It is hard to say which one turned out better but I believe the smoked one possibly coulda been the winner. I believe old87 coulda done alot better on the smoked turkey.
I wound up preparing alot of dishes I have never before prepared and my wife did the same. Plus I have never hosted a thanksgiving so it was surely a learning experience. Thank god the internet has lots of great recipes. My smoked ham turned out wonderful too, thanks to old87 for introducing me to barbecue rubs. How was everyone elses Thaksgiving?

pretty good, went to olds tuesday, wed, and thurs mornin, came home, saw the dad, and went to 2 other friends houses, that said if i didnt show up they would shoot me. and the absolute topper to it all was the ticket i got on the way to olds house for laying drag. cop said that the smoke was so thick that he couldnt see the truck, the road, or the other cars, so i think that it was worth it. the cop was really cool about it, because he didnt get me for no seat belt, gun in the console, and he didnt even question me about the beer in the bed!
