i was wondering if anyone knows where to find parts for a generator. i don't want to buy a rebuilt one, i want to do it myself but haven't been able to come across any parts, i.e. armature, field coils. any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Regular parts suppliers such as: Red's Headers, Patrick's Antique Auto Parts, Sacramento Vintage Ford, Joblot, etc.

Also junk yards for generators on Fords up thru '64. Also NAPA should be able to get most of what you need. And finally, any good auto electrical shop should be able to supply you with what you need.

Try Yesteryear Ford Parts in Mason, Michigan 517-676-4416. I bought field coils from them and converted my generator to 12 volt.
