Hello Ford fans
Hi....I am owner of 2 E-350's, one 1986 w/460 ambulance package and one 1990 w/7.3 diesel ambulance package. The 86 has 130000+ miles, and the 90 has only 66000+ miles. Both are retired class III ambulances. Currently rebuilding heads on the 1990 because it cracked a valve. Personal: I am originally from Norway, been in US since 89, Live in Rocky Hill ,CT. Work in Construction,GC commercial construction only. While I am here , I got a technical question....My 1990 chipped a piece of an exh.valve ( #8 cyl.) wich in turn chewed up the top of the piston...no hole. The intake valve is still in perfect condition , and so is the head surface. How critical is the top of the piston... some light resurfacing and polishing? ..or new piston? Thanks , Frode

Best place to try your tech question would probably be the Pre-Power Stroke Diesel (1994 & older) Forum. Good luck with the rebuild.
