Well, tis' the season.......Ducks that is. So who's going and where are your "favorite" spots. I won't be able to go till the week of the 11th, but hopefully it will have quieted down considerably and I'll hunt in peace and quiet.
My favorite spots.....well lets just say "the west side" of Cook Inlet and the Knik River region......

Heck yea we have ducks. We are a major breeding ground. Ducks will breed up here in the summer and then fly south for the winter. Alaska ducks use all the "flyways". Season starts the Sep. 1st and runs till the lakes freeze over. But for the most part where I hunt, I can go until late October. We do have to contend with limited shooting hours though. Each day we'll loose about 6 minutes of available "legal" shooting hours.

Went duck hunting last saturday, managed to get a few....did bag my first "banded" duck. it was only about 15 yards off, but as it fell I saw the band on it's leg. If the shuttle had been in orbit they would have seen not only the pipeline but my big grin too.....
Look forward to getting my certificate in the mail telling me all the "W's" about my duck. Gonna have to go back to my "spot" and try to get another one. But let me tell you. Friday evening when I went out to place my 'set' and blind I saw hundreds of ducks. They were everywhere.
Had a real nice dinner Sat. night to boot.
