Ok here goes. The E13 is model E130 Deluxe Club Wagon.
The T says you have a 170cid 6 cyl.
The H means it was built at the Lorain assembly plant.
The remaining numbers mean the consecutive unit number, meaning which month and what number of unit that was built that month.
Does that help any? Have fun and enjoy driving your wagon.

The rest I forgot. The color code E represents Oxford Blue metalic.
A89 says Standard Van.
A on the trans means c4 Automatic.
Axle 01 says ratio of 3.50

E-series did not get the autos in 1963. 3-speed only.

They certainly did not get the C-4 auto in 1963.

89D is the Club Wagon. 2923 produced in 1963

I'm not sure about the engine and what the "T" means for sure. There were only 2 engines available in 1963, the 144 and the 170. Look at the door tag. The engine HP will be listed. The 144 had 85 HP, the 170, 101 HP.

In 1963, the 144 was painted Ford Medium Blue, the 170, Ford Red.

I have a manual for 61 and 65 Econolines. It shows an S for the 144 and aT for 170 6cyl. I know I read the trans code from my 65 manual and it showed that to be an Automatic. I will admit I myself question this, for I beleive the Automatics came out in 65 or 64 but not prior to that. So I would stand corrected then.
Jshira If yours says T for engine and you have a 144. Has the engine been changed on your econo at some time?
I have 2 64's and 2 67's and one is a 4 spd on a 170 engine in the 64 van.
Anyways I do not have a manual on 63 and I deciphered what I could from the 2 manuals I do have.

Here is the 1963 Econoline brochure.

http://www.falconman.com/fullbrochur...llbrochure.htm

The auto and 4-spd. were not available until 1964. The only tranny available in 1963 was the 3-spd. Tranny code A.

The 144 had 85 HP. The 170 had 101 HP. The door tag on Econolines lists the HP. My door tag says 85 HP and I have a "T" engine code. Based on that, the "T" means the 144. Even if the engine has been switched, the tag would still be accurate.

I have to agree with you. My bet would have been that the "T" code meant the 170.

But, I am having trouble reconciling having both the "85 HP" rating and the "T" code on my door tag.

Thanks Jimbare. and Jschira. I have quite soon knowledge on these vans, but there is always room for more. One would be to eventually learn what disc brakes can be setup on these vans and trucks.
Looking forward to the day I restore the one truck and the customizung of the other. Thanks again.

I just sold my van, so for me, just something to file away.

I told the guy who bought mine that it had the 144. If it has the 170, he got a little bonus. It will run 55-60 mph all day long, which is what is really important.
