Hi, a very good friend of mine is moving to Hawaii soon, his wife is in the army and that is where she is gonna be stationed. My friend was very curious about the emissions laws you guys might have. He would like to bring his 1982 Trans Am with him, but the PO removed the air pump and the catalytic converter. He doesn't want to take it if he won't be able to drive it legally. Any information or tips would be much appreciated.

 

Tell your friends Aloha. I just made that move myself and just the other day I got my truck inspected. I asked if they put vehicles on the sniffer and the mech said that Hawaii doesn't require the sniffer and a lot of placeslet you do a drive through inspection, so the Trans Am can probably make it.
