i need some help, my 1988 ford f-150 is apparently equipped with a fuel shut off switch on it. but i dont know where its at! and now my truck wont start, somebody please help me....it has a str8 6 engine

 

my 88 with the 302 is on the firewall on the inside, just above the brake. did it just happen all the sudden or did it sputter out, or did you hit something?

well try resetting the inertia switch, then check the fuel pump relay under the hood.

 

check wires under the fuel pump relay, they corrode.

 

check the fuel pump relay wire connections at the relay the wires may have broken or the insulation stripped off causing it to short also it isnt a bad idea to replace the relay itself. check the power wire to the fuel pump relay to see if it has pulled out of the plug.

 

someone please help! my fuel guage on my ford f-150 isnt working.when the gas tank is full the gauge doesnt move. but when it gets to a certain point, it will move side to side. when the gauge moves it will go to full and then to empty. when i turn to the right, the needle go to the full marker, when i turn the left, the needle goes the empty marker. please tell me what is wrong so i can make the necessary repairs to it thanks.

 

id say its time for a new sending unit.

 

thought about something else, what if the sending unit is ok? i know there might be a way to check but dont remember how to do it. also, when the gas gauge reads full, the needle goes way past the full mark. it would run parallel with the bottom of the instrument panel...as i try to illustrate here:

this is what it shows when i fill the tank up, does this mean that the sending unit is still not working or does it mean something else, let me know asap....
